Fifteen employees were taken to hospital after a carbon monoxide leak at a grocery distribution centre in Whitby last night.
Workers complained of headaches and problems breathing after inhaling carbon monoxide at the Sobeys Warehouse on Nordeagle Avenue, near Victoria and Brock Sts. at approximately 4:30 p.m., fire department officials said.
Maintenance work was being done in the warehouse when fumes from the refrigerator trucks got into the building, according to Whitby Fire Department.
No one was seriously hurt but employees were taken to hospital as a precaution.
